Skillchamps' drill rules:

Dribble Quickness Drill Rules

The current record is 40 seconds. Can you complete the drill in less time?

Summary: (A demonstration video is below.) Complete the shown circuit twice. The drill is done using a standard basketball key for the circuit. The circuit is shown on the diagram below the demonstration video. Players are ranked by completion time.

Dribble Quickness Drill demonstration video:

You must make the ball touch the floor at each of the key's corners to do the drill according to the rules. It is not sufficient that your body, foot or the ball reach or cross over the corner. The ball is to touch the floor on each of the key's painted corners and that bounce is to be made with that line's hand. Notice how the dribbler in the demonstration video below makes the ball touch the floor on each of the key's corners.

Hint: To improve your time, consider using a cross-over or reverse dribble after lines 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 and 9 and a pull-back or pick-up dribble after lines 3, 5 and 8.

RH = Dribble the line with your right hand*. LH = Dribble the line with your left hand*. *Each line's first bounce may be started with the prior line's hand.

Dribble Quickness Drill Rules:

Start by using strong hand to bounce ball onto starting corner. End each line by using the line's hand to bounce ball onto line's destination corner. Use only one hand on each line except that each line's first bounce may, but need not, be started with the prior line's hand. Left handed players may reverse the diagrammed line pattern by starting on the key's other side. The drill is done using a standard basketball key for the circuit.

Additional Rules

The drill ends when you have successfully completed the circuit required by the drill.

If you break the footwork or area rules, repeat the drill.

You must stay inside the video's frame at all times. The video may not be edited. The camera must be positioned above court level sufficiently for viewers to see clearly the entire circuit. Look through the viewer when you set up the camera to make certain the coaches watching the video will be able to see the key lines and the position of the ball relative to those lines.
